NOTES
Spy Valley Wines is situated on the sunny southern side of Marlborough's Wairau Valley, nestled on the terraces of the Omaka River are the vineyards of Johnson Estate. The brand name SPY VALLEY is derived from the presence of a satellite communications monitoring station (spy base) nearby, part of the Echelon Global Network.
Our Gewürztraminer is produced using innovative, modern winemaking practices. After gentle pressing, the wine is fermented slowly to retain the intense rose-petal aromas of the grapes, then aged on lees for several months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. This wine is fruit-driven in style, typically with intense aromas of rose-petal, Turkish delight and lychee with a full-bodied, oily palate.
TASTING NOTES
Straw with gold highlights, the wine displays a bouquet of lifted aromatics with classic rose petal and Turkish delight along with white pepper and cardamom spiciness with hints of honeycomb. The palate displays pure fruit flavours and natural sweetness complement the well balanced, elegant structure.
