NOTES
Deviation Road is a small family owned and operated winery in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Our vineyard is situated on Deviation Road, the namesake of our winery, in the high slopes of the Lenswood district.
The 1920's topographical map which features on the label shows the area around our vineyard. High slopes, multiple aspects and the specific soil type present here all combine with the Hills' cool climate to create the unique Deviation Road terroir. You can taste it's elegance in our Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The Adelaide Hills is a truly remarkable region for producing not only outstanding aromatic white wines, but similarly outstanding and elegant Pinot Noir and Shiraz. The key to producing these refined reds is by maintaining low yields, careful site selection and meticulous wine making. The Shiraz grapes used are from carefully selected sites from other vineyards in the hills. The winemaker works closely with these growers to produce low yielding, un-irrigated fruit of full flavour yet retaining signature spice and fine structure.
TASTING NOTES
Pears, pink lady apples, citrus, lemon, honey and almonds with fresh capsicum. Grapey ferment notes and honey suckle with attractive floral notes of white peach. The palate shows lemon tart and layers of florals, white peach, almonds and honey suckle with white spice and a balanced fresh herbaceous lift
