Red Wine > Shiraz & Blends > Chapman Grove ’Atticus’ Shiraz 2004 (Margaret River, WA)
|
NOTES
The Atticus range strives to achieve the best the Margaret River terroir can offer and is symbolised by the “Spirit of the Vine” – Anima Vitium. These wines have been produced using estate grown fruit carefully nurtured on the vine, skilfully crafted and finished in the best French oak to accentuate the distinctive varietal fruit flavours.
The range consists of a Chardonnay, Shiraz and a Cabernet Sauvignon. The Atticus wines are small in volume but great in stature.
TASTING NOTES
Savoury earth characters on the nose, the palate shows multi layered fruit flavours consisting of red and black berries, and plum and mulberry backed up by fine French oak and tannin. Long term cellaring.
REVIEWS
A medium-bodied wine with abundant flavour and texture in a strongly spicy spectrum; has good balance and texture, but not in the class of the chardonnays. Screwcap.14% alc. Rating 91 Drink 2013, James Halliday – Tasted March 2008
Another single vineyard wine that has been worked with French oak. It’s got great character with a savoury slightly earthy flavour. Fine silky tannins create structure to support a smooth velvety palate. Stylish and classy. 90 Points, Ray Jordan’s Guide to Wine 2006/2007
