NOTES
Inspired by its potential to produce superior quality grapes, John and Catherine Thomson planted their vineyard in 1975 at Crawford River, in south west Victoria. It was then a relatively unexplored wine growing region. All the wines are crafted entirely from fruit grown at our Crawford River vineyard, vinified and bottled on site. The hand-picked grapes are brought in to the winery in small batches where meticulous attention is paid to detail.
TASTING NOTES
Another lively, luscious, fruit driven version of this blend. The growing season in 2008 gave fabulous fruit results in the vineyard displaying clean, crisp flavours. In this wine they are shown as an array of tropical flavours, including red papaya and passion fruit though backed up as always by strong natural acidity with a good structural backbone and slight hint of fresh grass lent by the Semillon. The finish is dry, chalky, clean and crisp.
REVIEWS
Flinty and fragrant, it waxes to fine expressions of tangy green apple, lemon blossoms and grapefruit, delivering great length and intensity on a clean, lively finish! Wine Mag.com.au
Elegant drinking from an oasis of superior vines in Victoria's southwest. Currant, fig and hay aromas dominate, the fruit creeps up on the palate and evolves, swaying between asparagus/ gooseberry/ nettle of sauvblanc and the drying red/green capsicum nature of Semillon, it closes appealingly dry and satisfying!
