Yering Station Pinot Noir 2008

In 1838, William Ryrie is credited with planting the first vines in Victoria at Yering Station. In 1850, Paul de Castella was responsible for its development from primarily a cattle station into one of Victoria’s most important vineyards and winery. In 1889 Yering Station wines were triumphant at the World Exhibition in Paris when awarded a ‘Grand Prix’. Today, we have followed the lead of these viticultural pioneers by replanting selected varieties on the original site. The varietal characteristics of these grapes are maximised by uncompromising winemaking to produce wines of utmost quality and distinction. This wine is a great example of Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with uplifted aromas, silky palate and lingering finish. Delicious now, this wine will reward cellaring of at least 7 years.
