NOTES
Our aim is to make great wine that actually tastes of where it is grown. We use no pesticides or chemical sprays. Our focus is on nurturing our vines to good health, allowing the natural cycle of the season ripen the fruit. This means we are getting great intensity of flavour and a new style of vibrant fresh wines with characteristics that are specific to Krinklewood - Rod Windrim, Vigneron.
TASTING NOTES
Deep ruby red in colour & medium bodied, this vintage has rich ripe berry (essentially mulberry) fruit flavours, spice, tobacco leaf and is well balanced by savoury oak. It has an elegant, long finish. Complements a spicy Spanish Chorizo Risotto with freshly ground black pepper.
OTHER REVIEWS
Bright colour; plenty of red fruits, with good concentration and medium bodied palate weight on the finish; vibrant and lively, with good acidity. Rating 91. To 2018, James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009
The best red yet from this Hunter Vineyard. A beauty, with spices, red fruits and elegant balance, good concerntration but tight, fleshy, intense and focussed, finishing long in the mouth. Benchmark Hunter Shiraz and an ideal food wine. Drink now to 12 years. 91 Points, Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald, April 15, 2008
This is the best Shiraz so far from this biodynamic Vineyard. It’s not gigantic in proportions, but it’s sufficiently fleshy to satisfy and has that unique Hunter sweet-and-sour Shiraz flavour. It’s a particularly good friend to beef. Greg Duncan Powell, Vogue Entertaining and Living May 2008
