Imported Red Wines > New Zealand > Momo Pinot Noir 2007 (Marlborough, NZ) - 7 Bottles Left
|
NOTES
Located in the cooler West Wairau Valley in the Marlborough region, the Momo label presents a range of classically Marlborough-styled wines. The name “Momo” is Maori for “offspring” and this certainly shows in these wines produced from Seresin Estate managed vineyards, as they reflect the same quality and care in winemaking that Seresin Estate wines do.
TASTING NOTES
Garnett red colour. Aromas of black cherry, mocha, new leather and hints of spice. The palate is concentrated with succulent dark fruits layered with red and morello cherries over smoky oak and fine mouth-coating tannins. Good cellaring potential, but why wait, enjoy Momo today with all meats, mushroom dishes, or rich fish like salmon.
REVIEWS
As a pinot recluse, I crawl out from under my tarp only very occasionally ie; when something very, very special indeed is unearthed. Momo of Marlborough have stirred and enthused me with this splendid canvas of Pinot brushwork. Awe inspiring, picnic ham, shitake, soy and sweet loam aromas, an entry like ornate robes of imperial purple, tannins like seething snakes of winegum and cola! Winemonthly.com.au
