NOTES
On a voyage of discovery in the 1800s, the great ship 'The Astrolabe' visited the shores of Marlborough and discovered the region's significant beauty and potential. Today, its namesake has captured these qualities and created a distinctive range of wines - Astrolabe. Nurturing the attributes of the soil, vine and climate and combining these with his minimalist approach in the winery, Simon Waghorn transforms the region's grapes into stylish and expressive wines. Already with a cult following, wines from Astrolabe offer excitement, exclusivity and exceptional value.
TASTING NOTES
Powerful gooseberry, greengage, capsicum, passionfruit and lime peel aromas. Medium to full-bodied palate with strong gooseberry, passionfruit and currant flavours, a hint of freshly-cut red capsicum, and a refreshingly smooth lingering finish. A perfect foil for summer salads, Thai noodles, seafood and especially green-lipped mussel dishes.
