Bellarmine Riesling 2008

NOTES

Bellarmine Wines produces a range of individual wines made from grapes grown on its picturesque estate in the cool climate region of Pemberton, Western Australia. The vineyard was planted in 2000 and is owned by German doctor, Dr Willi Schumacher and his wife Gudrun Schumacher. The Schumachers are passionate about great wine and searched the world for a place to plant vines before they chose what has become the Bellarmine property.      

TASTING NOTES

A slightly sweeter style with fragrant lavender, floral and citrus aromas and a finely balanced palate which exudes tropical fruits with some sweetness. The wine is elegant and has finesse with riper melon flavours which persist. Delicious with spicy and Asian foods.

REVIEWS

Pale colour and vibrant hue; restrained green apple bouquet with a backbone of minerality; the palate is off-dry with pure fruit, focused acidity and an even Mosel-like slatey finish. Screwcap.11.3% alc. Rating 94 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2010
