NOTES
Semillon and Shiraz have been the most consistent performers, underlying the suitability of these varieties to the Hunter Valley. The Semillon, in particular, invariably shows intense fruit and cellars well. Briar Ridge has been a model of stability, and has the comfort of substantial estate vineyards from which it is able to select the best grapes.
TASTING NOTES
The freshly crushed fruit is temperature modified and left on skins for some time before the fermentation commences. The palate is powerful displaying layers of dark berries combined with soft balanced tannins and nice subtle oak characters. The finish has great length and weight. A very versatile wine suited to many red meat cuisines including BBQ foods, pizzas and pastas as well as roasted duck.
