White Wine > Semillon > Briar Ridge Karl Stockhausen Semillon 2009
|
NOTES
Semillon and Shiraz have been the most consistent performers, underlying the suitability of these varieties to the Hunter Valley. The Semillon, in particular, invariably shows intense fruit and cellars well. Briar Ridge has been a model of stability, and has the comfort of substantial estate vineyards from which it is able to select the best grapes.
TASTING NOTES
The palate displays an elegant mineral line with refreshing lemonade and lemon sherbet flavours present. The acid structure is delicate and tight as a young wine, which will soften with age. The finish is persistent with lingering lime zest characters adding great length to the wine.
REVIEWS
A highly focused and intense palate with zesty lemon and mineral flavours intermingling through to the finish and aftertaste, the acidity very well balanced. Screwcap.10% alc. Rating 94 James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2010
