Red Wine > Pinot Noir > Salitage Pinot Noir 2007
|
NOTES
Salitage is a premium fine wine producer located in the beautiful and spectacular viticultural region of Pemberton, in the south west of Western Australia. James Halliday described Salitage as: "the most important winery in the Pemberton region. Salitage is the showpiece of Pemberton. If it had failed to live up to expectations it is a fair bet the same fate would have befallen the whole Pemberton region."
TASTING NOTES
Good depth of colour of medium intensity. Aroma of plum, black cherry, raspberry, aniseed, white pepper and mocha. The palate reveals dark cherry Pinot flavours, silky mid palate with a savory oak background. Impressive fruit length and fine lingering tannins. Further complexity will develop with careful cellaring out to five years.
REVIEWS
A stylish pinot from a good vintage, showing Pemberton on its best behaviour; fragrant and spicy, with a delicate mid-palate, then a peacock's tail finish. Screwcap.13% alc. Rating 94, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2010
