NOTES
From humble origins in 1868, the Monteith’s family-owned Phoenix Brewery became the Coast’s most popular brewer for its strong tasting, full-bodied ale. The Phoenix Brewery later merged with a group of small breweries to form the Westland Brewing Company, predecessor to today’s Monteith’s Brewing Company. Their livelihoods depended on making great beer, so they took their time crafting every single batch. It’s the only place where the beer is made the same way it always was.
Monteith’s Crushed Apple Cider is crafted from sun-ripened Nelson fruit that gravitate from the province's many thousands of apple trees before journeying to our Monteith's master brewers here in Greymouth who spend three months carefully nurturing the freshly crushed apple juice.
TASTING NOTES
Pours a pale white-yellow, almost clear, with a big white head and a lot of visible carbonation. Aroma is like sparkling wine- green apples, yeast. Flavor is a well-balanced mix of green apples and yeast as well. Sweet, tart, dry, and refreshing. A surprisingly good, crisp, natural-tasting cider.
