NOTES
Heartland Wines was created by a small group of leading South Australian wine identities who are all good friends and share a passion for making great wine. All Heartland wines are made with fruit from mature vineyards in the Limestone Coast and Langhorne Creek in South Australia. There are three ranges under the Heartland Wines label; Heartland, Stickleback, and the flagship Directors' Cut Shiraz.
The Coast & Creek range of wines perfectly reflect Ben Glaetzer’s determination to make wines that display pure varietal and regional characters. These wines are made from fruit sourced from the largest, most mature vineyards owned by Heartland wines. The Limestone Coast shares many qualities with its famous neighbour, Coonawarra with fruit ripening slowly developing full fruit flavours to create vibrant, mouth filling wines of finesse and elegance; and Langhorne Creek – situated east of Adelaide, on the Fleurieu Peninsula . It is one of South Australia’s oldest wine regions and as a result of the cool dry nights and warm days produces wines with richness and purity with fine tannins and opulent mouth feel.
TASTING NOTES
Pale lemon in colour. A beautifully fragrant nose, with citrus & tropical fruit flavours bursting out of the glass.
The Stickleback White is a wine greater than the sum of its parts, with each variety bringing its own unique quality to the blend. Verdelho adds natural richness and acidity to the palate. Viognier contributes luscious body and texture. Semillon provides vibrant, zesty citrus characters. Flavours of white nectarine and apricot kernel and perfectly balanced by a crisp natural acidity on the finish. Fresh and lively, it makes a perfect summertime drink.
