Invivo Pinot Gris 2009

NOTES

Rob Cameron is a qualified viticulturist and accomplished winemaker with previous vintages across Europe and New Zealand and Tim Lightbourne's experience in global brand management have formed the partnership that is Invivo.

After extensive planning in London and upon returning to New Zealand, Rob and Tim began working with the leading grape growers in Marlborough and Central Otago to launch their limited release quality wines. The Invivo vision is to produce the best of New Zealand wine, from New Zealand's premium wine-growing regions and bring this to the world in an innovative and contemporary approach.

Invivo was voted by the judges at the 2009 International Wine and Spirits Competition trophy finalist for New Zealand Wine Producer of the Year. At the 2009 Hospitality New Zealand Show, Invivo Wines was awarded the New Zealand Innovation in Wine Marketing Trophy. The judges comments about Invivo “Strong, linear, clear, and powerful as well as eye catching, it would translate well globally and stand out amongst the crowd. Every aspect was executed with outstanding application".

TASTING NOTES

The nose offers perfume of pears, quince and subtle candied fruit.  The palate backs this up and sweet pear /fig dominating the fruit flavours and soft texture.  The wine is silky and deceptively full bodied showing nice balance of sugar and acid leaving a clean and crisp finish that is not oily or cloying.  A great lunch time wine that is versatile with many foods but will excel when paired with white cheeses, ceaser salads and chicken dishes.

REVIEWS

“Soft, mouth-filling wine with a gentle texture, subtle ripe pear flavours and (thankfully) a pristine finish without grippy tannins commonly found in New Zealand Pinot Gris. Fresh off the press when tasted but with potential to develop splendidly over the next year or so.” Bob Campbell MW
