Forest Hill is Western Australia’s oldest cool-climate vineyard. Forest Hill is a proud family-owned boutique winery creating exciting wines of the highest quality. This family-owned business is one of the oldest ‘new’ winemaking operations in WA, and was the site for the first grape plantings in Great Southern in 1965. The Forest Hill brand became well known, aided by the fact that a 1975 Riesling made by Sandalford from Forest Hill grapes won nine trophies. Each is made to be a true reflection of the premium Western Australian grape-growing region of Mt Barker in the State’s Great Southern expressing unique regional and varietal characters combined with finesse, elegance and definition.

TASTING NOTES

Dark red with a purple hue. Lifted aromas of ripe red and black berries with hints of cinnamon and tobacco leaf. Earthy undertones and savoury notes add complexity on the nose and subtle spices develop in the glass. Medium bodied with a firm fleshy mouth feel. Flavours of red berry, Satsuma plum and subtle earthy, chocolate notes carry through onto the palate. Slightly dusty, chewy tannins are already well integrated with good mid-palate richness and definition.
