NOTES

Forest Hill is Western Australia’s oldest cool-climate vineyard. Forest Hill is a proud family-owned boutique winery creating exciting wines of the highest quality. This family-owned business is one of the oldest ‘new’ winemaking operations in WA, and was the site for the first grape plantings in Great Southern in 1965. The Forest Hill brand became well known, aided by the fact that a 1975 Riesling made by Sandalford from Forest Hill grapes won nine trophies. Each is made to be a true reflection of the premium Western Australian grape-growing region of Mt Barker in the State’s Great Southern expressing unique regional and varietal characters combined with finesse, elegance and definition.

TASTING NOTES

Deep blood cherry in colour. Intense aromas of blue berry and Satsuma plum with rich earthy, tobacco leaf undertones. Spicy aromas of clove and white pepper develop in the glass. The palate displays considerable fruit concentration of red and black berry fruit with solid length. The fine ripe tannins are very well integrated with fruity and savoury characters providing a velvety texture on the palate. Richer fruit flavours develop in the glass with a hint of anise.
