NOTES
Gentle Annie Wines is at the heart of a renaissance of highly regarded estate grown wines in Central Victoria, Australia. Located on the 'red ochre' volcanic Cambrian soils, the mild climate provides a unique viticultural environment. The limited terroir is perfectly suited for rich, elegant Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon and tangy, aromatic Verdelho.
Gentle Annie was established by Melbourne businessman Tony Cotter; wife Anne and five daughters assist with sales and marketing. The name Gentle Annie dates back to one Irish selector, Michael Ryan, a contemporary and sometime associate of the most famous Australian bushranger Ned Kelly, had a daughter named Anne. She was “of gentle temperament and extraordinary beauty” and was known far and wide as “Gentle Annie”. She liked to walk along the bush tracks around the hills near her home and one such hill opposite her original home carries her name today. Its slopes are now the site of Gentle Annie Vineyard.

A perfect match with aromatic Thai red curry, pheasant, quail, Osso Bucco, Beef Bourguignon, grilled seafood with chilli, roast lamb with garlic and rosemary, roast Pork, pasta with olive oil and herbs, ham and cured meats.
