TASTING NOTES
Light straw with attractive green tints. Fresh fine lime-citrus and floral fruit nose that is typical of excellent quality Riesling. This wine is made in a dry style with clean zesty acidity to balance the excellent length. Flavours are long and intense in a citrus spectrum and finish clean, crisp and refreshing. This wine makes a wonderful aperitif on its own, and will complement oysters and sorbets. A local favourite is char-grilled octopus or a more delicate sashimi. The finesse and elegance of this wine makes it ideal for immediate appeal. Aging over 8-10 years will see the added dimensions of toastiness and mouth feel.
REVIEWS
Although not the oldest riesling vines in the region (1974 plantings), this is the most powerful, possibly caught by the ’08 vintage as it doesn't have the elegance it normally shows, but does exhibit juicy apple and lime fruit. Screwcap. 12.5% alc. Rating 93 Drink 2018 James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2011(2008 Vintage, 2009 not yet reviwed)
