NOTES
Leconfield Wines own 44ha of vineyards in Coonawarra and 66ha in McLaren Vale. In December 2001, Paul Gordon left Rouge Homme to join the Leconfield team as Senior Winemaker. With over twenty-three years' winemaking experience and an enviable reputation Paul has a long list of achievements, including the 1994 Jimmy Watson Trophy.
TASTING NOTES
Medium to full red with youthful crimson hues. Complex choc-mint nose with integrated subtle oak. Cabernet Sauvignon imparts a backbone of cassis overlayed with plum fruits from Merlot. A fine round palate showing fruit sweetness. Medium bodied in structure, it has fine, silky tannins showing elegance and restraint. Try it with any medium to full flavoured vegetarian or meat dishes. Excellent on release and will age over the next 6-8 years. The mint overtones are expected to remain and be further complexed with cedar characters as the wine matures.
