Schild Estate Shiraz 2008

NOTES

Schild Estate wines are an expression of the southern Barossa, which enjoys a slower and longer ripening period – perfect for optimum grape flavour development. Meticulous viticultural and winemaking practices ensure all wines reflect their sub region - Pure Barossa.

TASTING NOTES

A nose of ripe cherries, rich spices and licorice with some vanillin undertones derived from the extended maturation in new and old American oak. On the palate the flavours explode in a fusion of complex oak and well integrated tannins with a backbone of ripe black plums.

REVIEWS

American oak makes its presence felt at every stage, but there is attractive cherry and plum fruit on the bouquet and the notably soft palate. Ready now, although will hold. Screwcap. 14.5% alc. Rating 88 Drink 2013 James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2011
