NOTES
Yering Station lays claim to being Victoria's first vineyard, proudly boasting some of the Yarra Valley's finest vines. Quite the specialists at Pinot Noir, Mr Frog represents another triumph. While positioned in the cheap and cheerful category, these wines are splendid, light bodied and great for everyday drinking with ample fruit, good structure, and savouriness on the finish with very minimal oak integration.
TASTING NOTES
Crimson red in colour, the nose exhibits a black cherry and strawberry fruit bouquet with toasty, vanillin oak and gamey notes. A touch of cranberry on the tongue and hints of anise and mint, a velvety texture and light, nimble tannins which align beautifully with the natural tang of the refreshing fruity acids. A lively young Pinot that will retain its youth and introduce new characters as it develops, perfectly approachable upon release, makes charming company to relaxed, casual dining.
REVIEWS
A fresh and flavoursome pinot noir, the palate and bouquet thrust the very cherry nature of the wine to the fore, allowing a touch of chocolatey tannins and bright currant fruit to poke through and provide complexity! Winegun.com
There's chocolateyness, cherry and good earth to this wine, making it quite unique and probably more interesting than most at this level. Anyone expecting a shallow or undistinguished regular Pinot is in for rather a surprise! Winewrite.com.au
