Bremerton Tamblyn Cabernet Blend 2007 - SOLD OUT. NEXT VINTAGE MARCH 2010

2006 VINTAGE NOTES

The four outstanding red grape varieties all grown in Langhorne Creek have been blended to provide us with a generous and well balanced wine showing lifted violet and spicy aromas, rich mouth filling dark fruits fruit, complementing soft well integrated tannins and a flavoursome savoury lingering finish. The concept behind the “Tamblyn” blend was developed when we decided we wanted to craft a wine that people were able to appreciate that night or cellar for a few years. We have blended a complex flavoured wine by utilising the characters of each of the varieties, at the same time achieving a soft well rounded approachable palate structure.

TASTING NOTES

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Malbec and Merlot, the wine exhibits aromas of dark red plums and cedary oak precede a firm and concentrated palate, up-front expression of ripe plums and berries, framed by sweet oak. Bright, spicy, tobaccoey, light-weight and floral-lifted, with red/black cherry sweetness and a hit of blueberry. The four outstanding red grape varieties all grown in Langhorne Creek have been blended into a generous and well balanced wine showing lifted violet and spicy aromas, rich mouth filling dark fruits, complementing soft well integrated tannins and a flavoursome savoury lingering finish.

Tamblyn was fermented in open top fermenters allowing maximum extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was matured in new, one & two year old French and American barriques (225L) for 15 months prior to blending and bottling.
