Colour
Deep red with vibrant flecks of majenta.
Aroma
Ripe plum, cherry and coffee, coupled with cedary oak, rose and crushed mint leaves.
Palate
Rich and voluptuous fruits of ripe cherry and plum over layers of vanilla and chocolate. Hints of tomato leaf characters with smooth tannins and a long rich finish.
Food Matching
Rib eye steak and potato gratin.
Winemaking Notes
Approximately 15% new French and 85% 2-5 yr old French and American oak for 15 months to impart mocha, vanilla and spice flavours. Some parcels remained in tank after fermentation to retain pure fruit characters. These batches were then combined with the oak components to create the final blend.
