NOTES
Peter Lehmann once said that when God created Shiraz, he did so with the Barossa in mind! The soils and the climate are ideal for producing the full flavoured, rich fruited Shiraz wines of great longevity that have made them internationally recognised as Australia’s contribution to the great wines of the world.
The third consecutive great vintage in the Barossa following on from 2004 and 2005 is fulfilling the winemakers’ expectations for producing red wines of exceptional quality.
TASTING NOTES
Deep rich red in colour: the nose is typical of Barossa Shiraz, showing dark plums and chocolate, with attractive sweet cedar notes and a hint of black pepper. The palate has a good depth of dark berry flavours with a touch of savoury fruits and a good tannin structure in harmonious balance to the fruit. This wine will continue to give drinking delight for 5 plus years.
