Yering Station Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

In 1838, William Ryrie is credited with planting the first vines in Victoria at Yering Station. In 1850, Paul de Castella was responsible for its development from primarily a cattle station into one of Victoria’s most important vineyards and winery. In 1889 Yering Station wines were triumphant at the World Exhibition in Paris when awarded a ‘Grand Prix’. Today, we have followed the lead of these viticultural pioneers by replanting selected varieties on the original site. The varietal characteristics of these grapes are maximised by uncompromising winemaking to produce wines of utmost quality and distinction. This Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant wine with aromas of chocolate, cassis and cherry. The palate is full and velvety with fine tannins and a long ‘morish’ finish. It will drink well for at least 10 years.
