De Bortoli ’Gulf Station’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
2004 Perth Wine Show Class 33 Gold Medal. The 2003 growing season was warm and dry resulting in very low crops high in colour and concentration. This wine was made from select vineyards of Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and has been matured in French oak barriques and hogsheads for 12 months. It exhibits ripe blackcurrant Cabernet aromas with hints of cedar and anise. The palate shows depth of varietal fruit, has classic fine grained tannins and a soft balanced finish. It is made both for immediate enjoyment or for medium term cellaring (3-5 years). Try with char grilled sirloin or a heavy minestrone.
