Viv Thomson: (Vigneron) Deep purple, big fruit married with oak. Round, soft, long palate, finishing with good tannin and acid balance. I’m very proud this wine carries our name.
Adam: (Winemaker) Colour: intense purple. Nose: rich Shiraz fruit characters with a touch of spice, interwoven complexities, a brooding monster. Palate: good upfront fruit, long, complex, intense and balanced.
OTHER REVIEWS
"Rich, powerful and assertive, and just withing the bounds of genuine ripeness. Deep, dark and spicy, its meaty, leathery and briary expression of intense red and black berry fruits is backed by dusty clove and vanilla-like oak. Framed by a firm and palate-coating extract of drying tannin, it finished long and persistent, nutty and savoury. Slightly raw, it's unashamed cellar style that needs time to reach its ultimate balance and integration" - Jeremy Oliver, The Ausralian Wine Annual 2008 - 95 Points - Drink to 2034
"More concentration of power and greater structure than Bin 0; blackberry with splashes of licorice and spice; will be seriously long lived, and is not yet showing its best. Cork. 14.5% Alc. - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2008 - 95 Points - Drink to 2010
"The wine itself is a bold red with lurid splashes of purple. The nose is rich and spicy, with blackberries, black plums and a fair old scoop of sweet oak. The palate showed lovely spicy fruits, with some cinnamon, coffee, dry spices and a bit of eucalypt, finishing with sour cherries and a bit of char. Concentrated, powerful and pure, impeccably balanced, even with the amount of oak that the wine has seen, but it needs a few years to settle" - Gary Walsh, Winorama April 17 2007 - 93+ Points - Drink 2010 - 2014+
