NOTES
Watershed Wines has been established by a syndicate of investors, and no expense has been spared in establishing the substantial vineyard and building a striking cellar door, and a 200- seat café and restaurant. Situated towards the southern end of the Margaret River region, its neighbours include Voyager Estate and Leeuwin Estate.
The definition of watershed is 'to go to a new (higher) level of understanding; an awakening'. A second meaning is ‘a high area of land between two bodies of water'. Both meanings are appropriate to Watershed Premium Wines. The Watershed label was designed by Roland Butcher and incorporates a purple room with a four paned window on the wall. Green vines can be seen looking out of the window, however, the main focus is a ray of light streaming through the glass and diffusing across the floor, symbolizing a human being’s ‘stream of consciousness’ - a creative but almost uncontrollable thought process, spurred on by small inspirations, all leading to a final revelation, or awakening.
TASTING NOTES
From our Shades range, this wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon and is of the classic Margaret River wine styles The wine displays aromas of lime blossom, lychees and gooseberry. On the palate citrus and tropical fruit flavours continue, balanced by a crisp acidity level. A pleasant wine to drink on its own but also a suitable companion with food, particularly Asian cuisine. Enjoy this wine in its youth or alternatively cellar for up to three years.
REVIEWS
Easy style, with gooseberry and passionfruit leading the way, and a touch of herb from the semillon. Screwcap.
