BACKGROUND
Established in 1998, the third generation of the O’Callaghan’s, Tim, has followed in the footsteps of his famous father, the man behind Rockford’s Basket Press Shiraz and set up Diggers Bluff in the famed Barossa Valley.
Having done time at Tyrrells, Yalumba, 3 vintages at Peter Lehmann, another 3 at Krondorf then and under the father & son rule, helped out at Rockford for 2 years, Tim certainly received the grounding to produce wines of great, structure, intensity and elegance. With no pressure to release the wines early, Tim waits until they are at their optimum, usually with a few years bottle age and still, they can age gracefully well into the future!
TASTING NOTES
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, this wine is a ‘Rich, ripe, traditional Barossa Valley style, but in no sense overdone. Has sweet black fruits, softly rounded tannins and good length, the oak largely incidental. Quality cork 14.5% Alc RATING 93’
