Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2007 - 3 Bottles Available

NOTES

Grosset Polish Hill is a single site wine from the Polish Hill vineyard, planted at 460 metres above sea level on sandy loam over shallow clay with underlying gravel, shale and slate. Like the Watervale, it has been made each year since 1981.

Grosset Polish Hill is the only Riesling to be rated "Outstanding" on the Langton Classification of Distinguished Australian Wines. In Addition, some time ago saw Wine and Spirits (USA) recognised the Grosset Polish Hill Vineyard as one of the ‘25 Great Vineyards of the World’.

TASTING NOTES

It has gentle aromatics with some lemony, lime aromas, mouth-puckering zesty lime and slatey, minerally quartz characters, is tightly coiled on a lean, austere palate before a taut, racy finish that lingers long and ultra-dry. The 2007 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling has finesse, delicacy and balance and yet is bound in a stark, steely frame that time will transform. An extraordinary and seamless wine that has appeal now and one that should show that drought need not mean compromise.

OTHERS REVIEWS

Line, length, mouthfeel, delicacy, power - there is a lot to get excited about here. Gunmetal, citrus juice, zest and granite, the finish grippy, grapey and tight. It's so tight it feels tannic. Mesmerising. Drink: 2007-2015. 94 points. Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
