Dominic and Krystina Morris are a young winemaking couple with a passion for making interesting, premium red wines. They met while working vintage in the Barossa Valley and together spent many years travelling and working consecutive vintages in Australia and Europe.

TASTING NOTES
A spin on the traditional Australian blend of Shiraz and Cabernet, this wine is created by harvesting the three varieties at the same time then co-fermenting them. The combination is fascinating and very drinkable! Lifted aromas of dark cherries and raspberries, cinnamon, nutmeg and subtle toasty oak intensify on the soft, rounded palate that is in great balance with its lingering finish. Enjoy this wine with a gourmet pizza or anti-pasto of chorizio, olives, parma ham and shavings of parmasan. Drink now or cellar for up to 5 years.

Now let's see - is there a better value red with loads of ripe, juicy, tangy fruit yet plenty of savouriness alongside tannins and decent structure to last more than one drinking season? Doubt it. A beaut blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and tempranillo each adding, not dominating with a hint of cassis from cabernet, then fragrant savoury tempranillo notes coming to the fore.

This Bridgewater winery has quietly earned a minor cult following in recent years as well as a five-star rating in James Halliday's Wine companion. Red wine is the core business at Pondalowie, as it is for most Bendigo region wines, and the medium bodied Vineyard Blend is a fine example of the brand. The shiraz component provides essential blackberry and plum flavours, the cabernet adds a dry note and a gentle tannin grip, wile the Tempranillo contributes a certain mystique.
