Red Wine > Pinot Noir > Hungerford Hill ’Tumbarumba’ Pinot Noir 2005
|
TASTING NOTES
Tumbarumba provides the perfect climate for the sometimes fickle grape variety Pinot Noir. Matured in French oak barriques the Tumbarumba Pinot Noir is the perfect accompaniment to duck and other game.
Medium crimson in colour, the wine displays a nose which is dominated by ripe black cherry characters, complemented by sweetly spiced charred French oak. The palate is medium bodied with perfectly integrated ripe berry fruit flavours & fine nutty oak.
AWARDS 2005 Tumbarumba Pinot Noir 93 Rating - James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2008 "Quite complex plum and spice flavours with good mouthfeel and length; strong varietal character throughout."
2004 Tumbarumba Pinot Noir 4 ˝ stars & Top in Category - Winestate Magazine 2005 92 points – James Halliday Silver Medal – Sydney Royal Wine Show 2006 Bronze Medal – Perth Royal Wine Show 2005 Bronze Medal - Liquorland Top 100 New Zealand 2005
