NOTES
Moorooduc Estate was one of the first makers from the Mornington Peninsula to fashion table wines of genuine class. After some years of struggling to regain its early form, it is edging its way back from 2004 onwards with some very flavoursome and adventurous wines, of which the 2005 Chardonnay's are complex and interesting examples. There's no doubt about the potential of this site, which has a spectacular history - Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2008
Wine made from grapes grown in the Moorooduc subregion including the Derril Road vineyard, are able to carry the Moorooduc Estate brand. Its aim to express the rich, full bodied character that the warm and dry subregion produces.
TASTING NOTES
A handsome, well handled Chardonnay whose lightly, dusty aromas of lemon, stonefruit and melon overlie restrained vanilla oak and suggestions of wheatmeal. Its vibrant, shapely palate of inyense, peach, pineapple and grapefruit flavour culminates in a lingering and tightly focused finish of crisp acidity. It is mouthfilling and generous, with a youthful baby-fatness which should not become too pronounced over time. 91 Points, Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2008
Bright green-yellow; beautifully fashioned and sculpted wine; a multitude of flavours include nectarine, fig, cream and nuts; great length and intensity. 95 Points, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2008
