Amisfield is a specialist producer of fine wines made with grapes sourced from the Amisfield estate vineyard in Lowburn, Central Otago New Zealand. Amisfield is pioneering the way for sustainable winegrowing in New Zealand. The 60 hectare vineyard , located near the shores of Lake Dunstan in Central Otago , has followed environmentally friendly practices since the first vines were planted in 1999.
'Grown Not Made' is the underlying philosophy of Amisfield. Whether it's the pristine grapes grown to exacting standards by our viticulture team, the world-class wines issuing from our estate winery or the superlative food served at our Bistro at Lake Hayes, Amisfield are now regarded as one of the leading producers of Central Otago.
TASTING NOTES
Pale straw in colour, the wine exudes an intoxicating and alluring perfume of green apples and citrus blossom, through to grapefruit and honey. The palate is taut yet mouth-filling with knife edge acidity and displaying great flavour intensity while maintaining the elegance, finesse and character. Wonderful on its own as an aperitif or this wine will compliment creamy foods, as well as poultry, grilled fish or spicy Asian inspired cuisine. Drinking well while young this dry white wine will develop complexity and character as it matures.
