Browse > Grant Burge Moscato Frizzante 2008 (Barossa Valley, SA)
|
NOTES
This wine is made from 100% white Frontignac grapes, with a large proportion sourced from Grant’s own Lily Farm Vineyard in the Barossa Valley.
The fruit was crushed and destemmed. The juice was then cold settled and inoculated with neutral yeast to retain the natural fruit characters of the Frontignac grape. The fermentation process was carried out at a cool temperature (below 10 degrees) for three weeks at which time the fermentation was stopped to retain natural grape sugars. The wine at just 8.5% alcohol was then bottled early and under low temperatures to retain the natural carbon dioxide which appears in the wine as subtle elegant bubbles.
TASTING NOTES
This fresh and lively wine is pale gold in colour and shows alluring aromas of rose petals and floral bouquets. Subtle aromas of musk compliment the lively palate and the natural sweetness is balanced by the elegant acid structure. The wine finishes with a crisp, clean zingy taste. Lightly spritzy and lower in alcohol; the 2008 Grant Burge Moscato has great drinkability and is well suited as an aperitif or a perfect match to spicy Asian dishes or a plate of strongly flavoured cheeses.
OTHER REVIEWS
It tastes of grapes and lychee and roses and is beautifully aromatic, pure, and flavoursome. It's one of those wines - not rocket science, not contemplative, but delicious. The kind of wine the Mucho Yummo Wino section of this site was originally designed to highlight. 89 Points, Campbell Mattinson, Winefront July 2008
